Domain Protection

Keep your waitlist clean by restricting sign-ups to verified email domains and automatically rejecting disposable addresses.

Location: Dashboard → Settings → Domain Protection

Overview

Domain Protection gives you control over who can join your waitlist. You can restrict sign-ups to specific email domains (e.g. only company or university addresses) and automatically block one-time-use "throwaway" email addresses that inflate your subscriber count without representing real interest.

Both settings are configured per-project from the Domain Protection tab inside your project settings in the dashboard.

Allowlisted domains

When you add one or more domains to the allowlist, only email addresses from those domains will be accepted. Any sign-up attempt from a domain that isn't on the list will be silently rejected — the user sees an error message and the submission is not stored.

This is useful for B2B waitlists where you only want sign-ups from business email addresses, or for exclusive early-access programs limited to a specific organisation.

How to configure

  1. Open your project in the dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings → Domain Protection.
  3. Under Allowed domains, enter each domain you want to permit (e.g. acme.com, example.org).
  4. Save your settings — the restriction takes effect immediately.
Leave the allowlist empty to accept sign-ups from any domain. Adding even one domain switches the project into restricted mode.

Disposable addresses

Disposable email services (also called "throwaway" or "temporary" email providers) generate addresses that expire after a short time. They're often used to bypass sign-up forms or game referral programmes.

When disposable address blocking is enabled, PreLaunch Waitlist checks incoming email addresses against a continuously updated list of known disposable domains and rejects matches before they're stored.

How to enable

  1. Open your project in the dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings → Domain Protection.
  3. Toggle Block disposable addresses on.
  4. Save — blocking is effective on the next sign-up attempt.
Legitimate addresses aren't affected. Only addresses from known disposable providers are blocked. Standard personal and business email domains are always accepted.
